.sunday brunch.

September 20, 2010

We decided to have a family brunch today and we had a wonderful time…
My dear hubby ordered his usual fave brunch food - the eggs benedict, i have a very yummy steak sandwich,
Miss C ordered from the kid’s menu - a ham and grilled cheese toasted sandwich, while Logan intently watched us enjoyed our food…LOL

It was such an awesome day….we are were blessed with a nice sunny day (the weather forecast for today was crap….im glad they were wrong!)
the food was tasty and we really enjoyed the nice and relaxing environment in the Espresso Garden Cafe. Well in short, life was good….

Here are some snaps from our brunch, which should serve as a reminder that we should really do this more often….

Kelda: So awesome to see you are living up to your word and taking more and more photos! Love the ones of you and the kids don't really see enough of those ones. You are such a fantastic photographer!

Tori: Just wonderful. I absolutely love the way the background is so perfectly rendered out. What lens did you use for that?

we have not had much of a Spring so far…and specially today, i think that we had all 4 seasons in one day!
one minute it was sunny, the next minute it was hailing and it looked like a storm was just about pass….and then it stopped and the sun comes out again!
i just wished whoever is in charge of the weather up there makes up his/her mind! LOL

oh and i’ve heard that the weekend is gonna be the same….the forecast is saying its gonna rain with gale northwest wind *blech!*

well i figure that maybe we should just put spring in a jar and enjoy it inside our house to hold on to until the weather makes up its mind! LOL
so here is my ’spring in a jar’….took these shots today in between the horrible weather when we had a brief sun burst.

Sebrina Wilson: gorgeous!!!

julie: Hope you'll make the comments work. Seems to work for me :-)

Gary Ngo: Beautiful shots! Btw, I can't post comment when using Firefox (latest 3.5v). IE works fine.

Emma Collins: Hi Natalia Yay, Finally I can leave a comment on your gorgie work!!! I tried using my normal browser Firefox, but had no success - thought I'd try Explorer on the off chance and its working fine ... hope this helps ...

MV: Your macro work is AMAZING! so beautiful!

.donelle: Gorgeous series - It seems there is a problem with Firefox - cant click on the comments box, but I am now using Safari and that works...

tusen: I love the whole series, so beautiful and delicate. On technical note: could leave a comment in Firefox at all, in Opera I could write it but looks like it didn't save, now I'm trying Internet Explorer, let's see

Natalia: thank you so much for leaving your comments everyone....and for helping me trying to figure out this comment problem. I think its mostly Firefox users that are not able to leave comments... I just emailed the person who created the blog theme and see if he can help me figure out this issue.

.my little tiger bunny.

September 15, 2010

Today i took my lil guy for his 5 months vaccination….i still can’t believe its been 5 months, wow time goes so fast!
He was a trooper and only cried for a short spell when the vaccine was being injected in and then he was all happy again after its over.
To be honest i think it harder on me to see that huge needle going into both his chunky thighs! LOL

Anyway, i decided to take more pics of him today…i just love his blue vest i got from Jakarta and his white fluffy bunny hat,
so i just had to take some pics with him wearing them. So here is my little tiger bunny…

.baby shower.

September 14, 2010

Today i got invited to a baby shower as well as a farewell morning tea for a friend of mine from work.
We had a lovely catch-up….we talk a lot, catching up with gossips and lots of yummy food….what could be better than that?

Its always good when i get to go out and break out of my boring daily routine….and i really enjoyed catching up with my friends from work.

For this baby shower I put together goodies basket for my dear friend, it has a selection of stuff i have collected for her
ever since i found out she was pregnant. However, along with the goodies i want to give her something a bit more special and personal…
so i put together one small thing specially for her. I know you would probably guess that i made her a baby hat or a beanie right?
Well not this time…i will probably knit a hat for her baby boy when he is here,
but this time i put together a home made baby free range towels in the egg cartoon.

I got the idea when i saw a similar thing in a gift shop a while back….it was from a company called “babycupcakes” from Australia,
I have always wanted to try making it coz it looks so simple and very cute….so i decided to give it a go a couple of days ago.
I also included her official due date and her name in the ’special instructions” note inside the egg cartoon….
this was not included in the original design of baby eggs by “babycupcakes”, i just thought adding them in will be more personalized for her.

Btw, I’m a bit bummed that i forgot to take pics of the whole goodies that i prepared for her…
i finished wrapping the whole thing pretty late last night and i didn’t get a chance to take pics of it this morning
as i was in a hurry to go so that i’ll make it to the baby shower on time LOL
But luckily i remembered to take some pictures of the home made gift i made for her, so here it is…

Kelda: I have to say I totally over all the gifts and was very spoilt! The free range towels was awesome, excellent idea and very cute. Natalia you are very smart and creative and of course an awesome friend!

MV: Very creative and sweet of you Natalia!

.sherbet straws.

September 14, 2010

Since we moved house, i have been walking the little miss to her school every morning since we only live 5 mins away from her school.
The location of our new place is totally awesome, everything is within a walking distance.
We are right across the street from the swimming pool and the park, the mall and the supermarket is just around the corner….
i just love how this new place is very convenient.

However, since i have been walking Miss C to her school every morning from our new place its been really hard for her to say goodbye at school.
She cried and clings on to me saying that she wants me to stay in school with her, i told her that i can’t stay
then she told me that she will miss me too much when im not there. As sweet as that may be, that my daughter cannot bear
to be apart from me, its not a good feeling leaving your daughter while she was crying everytime you drop her off to school every morning.

This has been going on throughout all week, so i talked to her teacher to figure out whats going on….we need to get to the bottom of this.
The thing is, she used to bounce along to school excitedly every morning when i used to drive her to school,
so the only thing that has changed is the fact that now i walk with her to school from the new house.

So it turns out she has not adjusted to the move as well as we thought….although we have prepared her for the move
well before the sale of our house was confirmed. She kept on telling us that she loves the other house better….
we totally understand that it was the only house she has ever known and that she has been in that house since she was born
so she is very attached to it.

Ever since the sale of our house was confirmed we’ve been preparing her for the move & we tried to keep a positive spin on things…
we told her how great it was that the new house is so close to her school, its also close to the park and the pool so we can go there often,
and all the other good things about it, however she still insisted that she loves the old house better…

Well, i think she is slowly getting around to the idea that this new place is now her new home….
but it might take some time for her to adjust to that, and obviously this is also part of whats affecting her when i drop her off to school.

Her teacher suggested to break the crying habit with a promise of a “special treat” when she is being a good big girl
and not cry when mummy drop her off to school. So over the weekend we talked about her clingy-ness and the crying….
and we told her that if she can be a good girl and not cry this week we can give her a special treat.

During our talk she mentioned that her friend Stella got this cool colourful straws that has sherbet inside it….
we agreed that she can have that as her special treat if she promised to be a good girl this week.

For the last couple of days Miss C has stick to her promise in being a good girl and she did not cry when i dropped her off to school…
she asked if we can go get the sherbet straws after school today.

So after school we had a stroll over to this one specific service station (the only place we know that sells it!) to get her sherbet straw.
And guess what??….they are only .20cents for 3 of them! What a steal!!
i didn’t even know that we can still get candy for 20cents these days! LOL

Anyway, i love those sherbet straws because not only because they are a bargain….they motivate my lil girl to be in her good behaviour
and they also help make me feel better because i dont have to see my daughter crying in the morning…so its a win win in the end.

And another upside of this…after getting her special treat she is more than agreeable for me to take pics of her.
So after all that drama….and a long essay, here are the pics we took after school today…

.white.

September 12, 2010

When i want to get out of a rut, the first thing i do is get back to basic and just do what i love doing….macro photography.
Shooting macro relaxes me and usually it gets my creative juice flowing again.
So naturally the one lens i simply cannot do without is my macro lens and its almost always attached to my camera.

When it comes to shooting macro for flowers, one thing that always grabs me is white flowers…
they are so beautiful and they grab my attention everytime because of the simplicity, the purity and cleanness.
Its like a blank canvas…you can do whatever you want with them and they will always look beautiful.

So today im going to share a few shots of white flower macros simply because taking these pics brightens up my day.

dsc_4335-2

and of course while we are in the subject of white flowers, i cannot possibly leave out my all time fave white flowers…..daisies!

Megan: Nice to see some of your pretty pictures again (you just popped up on my blog reader again this week).

.home improvement.

September 12, 2010

As some of you already know, we just recently moved house and we had to downsize quite a bit…
we went from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom townhouse.
I know for some of you it seems that we are going backwards seeing that now we have 2 kids and yet we are moving to a smaller house.
However rest assured that its all part of a bigger plan we have…which is moving to Australia.

Anyway, seeing that we do have 2 children obviously we have quite a bit of stuff…and if you ask Russ (my dear hubby)
he will say that my photography stuff takes up more room than anything else LOL

Now we have quite a problem seeing that in our small townhouse we have no garage….so we decided we will buy a shed to store some of our stuff.
I thought this weekend is about as good time as any to go buy a shed. We went to a few places but we ended up in Mitre 10 MEGA…
for those of you who don’t know what that is, its like a huge place for home improvement and DIY stuff.

I never know a shed could cost so much! I just hope Russ can assemble it together when it arrives in a couple of weeks time.
We’ll have to wait and see on that…i will update you with it when the time comes.

Btw, the little miss had quite a good time there coz there was kids playground inside and we also went to the cafe inside and had some yummy cakes.
As part of my promise to be more proactive in photography i took my camera with me and I managed to take some snaps while were there…
here are a couple of pics i took of Miss C with some random Mitre 10 things while we were waiting for daddy to order the shed in the checkout.

dsc_44201

dsc_4424_edited

dsc_44161

oh and we also went there to get a new toilet paper holder…apparently there was a different opinion between Miss C and daddy and she was really dissapointed when we go for her daddy’s choice so this is the face we got from her…

Vanille: The cutest ambassador Mitre 10 could dream of !

life, as i know it…

September 9, 2010

Lets be honest…Im not much of a blogger seeing that i’m such a slack in updating mine.
Well, for the last couple of weeks i have been looking thru my archive folders of my daughter’s photos
in my attempt to catch up on doing her yearly photo book and i realised how much i have been slacking off…
im feeling very guilty that i have not been documenting my kids as much as i used to….and to be honest feeling a little rusty too,
so i made a vow to get off my tush and start doing something about it.

What im going to do is im going to start updating my blog again and hopefully will be posting more regularly.
My aim is to take daily photos of our everyday life, whether it be my kids, things around the house, any macro shot (which i love taking pics of),
or anything that takes my fancy. The kids will hopefully take center stage, but in the event that they are too grumpy or not in the mood
i will just take pics of something else.

So i took my camera out of the camera bag this morning and it is now sitting on my bench table within reach in my home.
This should give me no excuse whatsoever to not shoot and start taking pics again.
I will try my best to take photos daily, but if something comes up that makes me not able to do it everyday
then im not gonna sweat it and just keep going.

Im starting this morning and today i had a specific thing in mind…since we just moved house we had to re-decorate and re-arrange the wall,
and we have this one picture of my daughter that i took when i just started taking up photography
and my aim was to re-create a similar photo with my baby boy.

These are the pics i took today and i will be printing the second one to be put up on our wall alongside my daughter’s photo

.meet Logan.

March 31, 2010

Its been forever since I’ve updated my blog so I thought I’d do one update today,
specially seeing that today is supposed to be my baby boy’s due date…but he decided to show up 8 days early.

Meet Logan, born on 22nd March weighing 7.25lb (3.29kg).

I just wanted to say that he is absolutely precious and we are blessed to have him to complete our family.

Our lil girl was so very excited and proud to be a big sister, she absolutely adores her lil brother and always wants to hold him all the time…
she is such a wonderful lil helper.

Logan is such a cool lil guy and he stole our hearts from the first moment we meet him.

So here are a few pictures of him that i took recently…

.happy anniversary.

January 20, 2010

well its our anniversary day today…7 years married to a wonderful man and 15 years together
if you count the fact that we were going out for 8 years before we decided to get hitched LOL

we didn’t do anything special this year tho, seeing that its a week night and we also have to do a bit of tidy up in the house seeing that we have a builder coming around tomorrow to check out our house….the purchaser of our house might come with him so we thought we better make the house look a bit decent….(oh yeah, in case you didn’t know we are in the process of trying to sell our house again…hopefully we’ll have more luck this time around).

so to celebrate the occasion i asked if we can do a family photo shoot to document our family as well as the stage im in right now as Im officially in my last trimester of my pregnancy, exactly 30 weeks today! wow i can’t believe i only have a few more weeks to go…

my pregnancy has been going well although i’m feeling HUGE (at times i feel like i have been carrying around a basket ball in front of me!)
not to mention lots of heartburn and the random back pain! Im at that stage where i just want to get this over with now….
i can’t wait to meet our boy to complete our family.

i also wanted to say that sometimes i can’t believe that we have created one beautiful lil girl 5 years ago…
she is so sweet, loving and the best thing that ever happened to us….
and now that we are expecting another additional to our lil family she’s soooo excited about it.
I just adore our little girl and sometimes I think that I don’t deserve her.
She is so caring that she will do anything to put a smile on your face, she’s beautiful and enchanting and she’s our little girl.

we are blessed with a little one that is due soon and it makes my heart smile that they will always have each other growing up…
I just know our lil girl is  going to be an awesome big sister. She has been always been a bright spot in our lifes with her smile and her sweet nature…
I feel so lucky and blessed that God chose her to be with us.

anyway, before i start getting all teary eyes, i better share our family maternity pics…
i can’t believe we actually have a nice sunny day today, a good day for our anniversary :)
